Ruptured Pipe Causes Water Damage to a Crossville Home

The clean water from the failed pipe, fortunately, did not pose a health risk. The Before Photo depicts the furniture and personal items at risk from the water and resulting moisture. The SERVPRO technicians first moved these belongings to a dry area of the house before starting the water extraction. Our truck-mounted pump quickly dispatched most of the water. We then used wet-vacs with wands to finish this phase of the service. We did save the carpet by "floating" it. Lifting the edges from the tack board allowed us to place air movers to push the moisture from underneath. Dehumidifiers, not shown, completed the water and moisture removal. We verified standard moisture levels with the use of meters and an infrared camera. Our customer was pleased that no permanent damage was done to his property or possessions.
